The plague is finally taking a hike – with a little help from a round of amoxicillin. I still don’t feel like doing cartwheels, but my lungs are no longer trying to turn me inside-out, which is a nice change. The original creeping crud had gone into a secondary infection and I STILL had virtually no voice after three weeks, so I finally caved and called in the big guns, and here we are. I’m tired today but my ribs tell me I’m doing better. Yesterday I could barely talk above a squeak. Today I’m at pipsqueaks. That’s improvement, right?
This weekend will be busy. My older daughter has a wedding to decorate and officiate, and mom – aka
The wedding is in Tucson, which is a three-hour round-trip at best, too. So a super busy weekend.
Mother Nature is playing games, too. It’s raining
Again.
I like rain, don’t get me wrong. But this much rain, in the Phoenix metro area, in midwinter, is nuts. This is the time of year we’re usually cruising around in tee shirts and shorts, and anybody with a convertible has the top down. We usually get sunshine and blue skies without a speck of clouds. Nobody here owns a raincoat. Umbrellas, yes; but even those are usually packed away until the monsoons hit in July.
Honestly there’s no earth-shattering news on my end. I don’t even have any fancy-schmancy recipes to share. Or even shortcut recipes to share. Today’s easy to the point of boring: braised pork chops, buttered rice, and some kind of veggie. I’m leaning toward spinach, because it’s easy and we both love it. And considering it’s the beginning of my weekend, I’m all about easy cooking.
Don’t judge me on the blandness of the meal. My gastrointestinal system was caught in the line of fire with the secondary infection, so I’m going easy on everything for a while.
Easy dinners are my fave! Glad you can speak again even if you’re squeaky. ~LA
I’m glad too. Wish this were a lazy weekend where I could stay home and watch TV, but if I feel up to it, it’ll also be nice to get out for a while.
I hope you get back up to speed asap. I tend to get very frustrated with not being able to do stuff when I am sick and it sounds like you have so things to do so sending green healing energy
Thank you GBW. I’ll take any and all the healing I can get!!
As your online physician I strongly advise against 3 hour road trips until your CI (“Creeping Ick”) symptoms fully subside. Especially if you’re gonna be setting up studio lights and then running around taking pictures immediately afterwards. Don’t make me come down there and hogtie you into compliance. You know I will.
But if you do go…I’m sure the pictures will be great. Post a few!
🙂
I hope all went well and you enjoyed being away from home for a few hours. I started editing my manuscript. Have to confess, I really like this story.
