Franken-Family
Life in our little box has somewhat evened out. It’s tough to gauge since “normal” is relative when it comes to my relatives. There have been no more of the extreme meltdowns in several days, merely typical annoying-kid stuff. For this child, I’d say he’s been downright angelic. It accompanies doses of some pretty heavy-hitting meds, but it’s a lot quieter overall.
There’s a lot more going on in the background, including some professional documentation in support of my daughter’s bid both for sole custody and for moving her and her little guy to the Midwest. WAY more than I want to go into here. It would go on for pages and pages. The Reader’s Digest version is, most of it is genuinely good news.
Fortunes
I got some news out of left field at work last week. Good news — but saying it was unexpected is an understatement.
This unfortunately has to be vague for now. Since the change is still a couple of weeks away and currently only verbal, I’m not sure it’s okay to say anything to the world at large. Heh, “at small” is probably a better term for here, to my two readers.
I’m just glad there’s some genuinely good news on the horizon in my world, even if it’s not yet pinned down.
Frosted Flakes
Good googly-moogly, it’s cold out there!
Yeah, I mean here in Arizona, but I also mean nationwide. It’s insane how cold this week is.
My company is heavily affected by weather conditions across the country. We schedule appointments for home repairs and maintenance for something like 175 HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and roofing companies; and as of the past couple of months, we added swimming pool companies. Even if I hadn’t seen photos of the snow in Florida, Georgia, and Texas, I knew. It’s supposed to be our relatively quiet time of year. Instead, we’re offering all the overtime anybody wants to work. We have a class of trainees starting this week, but they won’t hit the proverbial floor for another month after that.
This week’s slightly warmer than last, thank goodness. We’re supposed to get some rain over the next few days, if we’re lucky. I’ll take it. If it had arrived earlier, when originally predicted, we’d have gotten snow. And we are NOT equipped for snow in this part of the world.

It was almost 35 today in Massachusetts. I, (who adore cold weather, normally,) am seriously happy. Our 1860+ built house isn’t good when it isn’t heated by wood stoves.
I am also VERY happy for vague good news!
Thank you! I believe the update will be announced in our team meeting on Wednesday, after which saying more here should be perfectly fine.
BTW I don’t mind cold weather if I’m equipped for it. Unfortunately my heaviest jacket is a lightweight flannel shirt. It’s fine for temperatures in the 50s – but not in the 20s.
I’m glad the family has calmed down. I hope vague good news becomes solid good news 🤞
I honestly think it’s pretty solid. Came from the Head Honcho herself. But because of what it is, I don’t wanna jinx it lol.
Yes to good news…..hope it all goes as expected.
Thanks, Terri. I SHOULD get things in writing, too, but I can see things working behind the scenes now, so it’s starting to feel a little more real..
