Great. Now I’m silently humming the Gilbert O’Sullivan song. Not sure why since I’m most assuredly not alone again, naturally or otherwise. G’s asleep and my daughter’s sleeping on the sofa. (My youngest is spending the night because they’re doing the follow-up fumigation for bedbugs at her apartment.) Neither am I sad or depressed, just irritated because I’m still awake and it’s going on midnight. I bypassed the gastrointestinal stupidity this time, my diet all day veggie heavy and carb light.
The new schedule is still clashing with my body’s internal clock and my body’s sticking its tongue out and going, “Nyah nyah!” Gah!! I want to retire from rat race, the sooner the better, preferably in a manner that’s healthy for body, soul and finances.
We’re still looking for a car, too. I definitely want to get something with AC before summer arrives with its typical vengeance. We have cash in hand so when the right vehicle comes along we can jump on it. I get off work early enough it should be a simple thing to coordinate with whomever, wherever, when the time is right.
The old monster turned out to be an easy fix for the overheating issue – provided we can find the part. It’s a minor thing, probably $25 or so, and apparently nobody has it. New baby daddy’s got a hunt on and he’s going to do the work; he talked G out of offering the car for sale for less than it’s worth once it’s all said and done. Good for that! G’s got a great sense of what people will buy when it comes to most things, but not always good at guesstimating the price at which they’ll buy it. Baby daddy set the numbers straight and said once we get this fixed it’ll get snapped up almost immediately.
I can definitely deal with that.
Time for me to call it a night tonight and try – again – to get some sleep.
