Just so ya know, we do have tornadoes in Arizona. I think the state averages one or two a year, all barely with enough wind speed to hit an F0 classification. We do, however, get dust storms/haboobs. We also get dust devils on a scale to rival a tornado. Hubby captured this small one across the street a few days ago:

No damage done, unless you count the perpetual layer of dust everywhere. (Dusting furniture here is kind of a joke.) I’ve seen them probably a quarter mile across or more and going up thousands of feet into the air. I saw one where you could see paper and debris going waaaay on up into the sky. Only when you got closer, it wasn’t paper. It was roofs, small sheds, etc., or at least pieces thereof. Easy to differentiate from tornadoes, though, since they’re most prevalent when there isn’t a cloud in sight.
Incidentally – the above photos were taken by G, not me. I was working when Mother Nature zipped through the neighborhood.
After announcing plans to go into the tee shirt biz, figuring it was about as no-brainer as it gets for a graphics addict… My laptop took a final, flying leap off the nearest tech cliff. I had more Blue Screens of Death yesterday on this blasted machine than I had uptime. Purrs like a kitten for browsing, music – anything but graphics programs. But the minute I launched Photoshop or Photoshop’s bastard son, Affinity Photo, it crashed and burned repeatedly. I stopped counting after a dozen crashes yesterday alone.
Y’all, Win 11 is vile. Going to try reinstalling Windows. Going first with Win 11 because it’s easy – but if that doesn’t work, will revert to Win 10 and stay there. What a colossal pain in the ass. I have so much work to do, and graphics play heavily into it. I use Photoshop almost every single day.
And yes, I updated every driver, uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop, the whole shebang. No dice. This is a three-year-old gaming rig. It shouldn’t balk at those kinds of programs. But ever since I moved to Win 11, it’s gummed up everything I’ve done with image editing, repeatedly and with blue-screen glee.
I kept forgetting to post this picture. I think. (Yes, I have a bad case of CRS for things like this. My day job is tedious math 9.5 hours a day, which sucks up all brain cells and spits them out in pretty sad condition for anything else.) We snapped this photo of an unusual mailbox a few weeks ago. I thought it was cool.

Just one of those kitschy-cool weird things you find out in the middle of nowhere.
Another example of crazy weird stuff: this is a sign from a watering hole, some halfway between our house and the younger daughter’s place,

No, we didn’t roll in for a cold one. We’re not bar people, for starters. Nothing against going out for a drink, on principle; it’s just not our thing. Plus, it was late morning. Definitely too early for alcohol.
Welp, I’m off to reinstall Windows. Hopefully it’ll only take one round. Otherwise, I guess I’ll have to do the long and roundabout version, which will take all day and then some.

Good luck with the ‘puter stuff. I’ve been running an older version of photoshop on the desktop I updated to win 10 and keep waiting for it to go south… . I force as much life as possible out of my tech but sometimes it is a thin line
My computer still has another year of warranty/service contract attached to it. I’m pretty tech savvy but I’ve had to call support a few times with this thing. But they got it working, Photoshop’s been running for over an hour now – and no crashes!!
I’m glad your computer is working again. I know you depend on it. Enjoy the holiday weekend if y you can.
So far so good. Here’s hoping it stays that way.
And I work for the holiday weekend but asked for a couple of days off week after next
