I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving.
I worked today – if you can call watching movies on Disney “working”. Oh, I did my job, too, but it was dead as a doornail. I zoomed through reports because there wasn’t anything else going on except reports. (I usually put the “multi” in multi-tasking.)
Since G dislikes turkey, I’d originally planned to make chicken for our holiday meal. But yesterday I set pork chops out to thaw, then changed my mind at the last minute – so we had stuffed pork chops today instead of chicken. The chops might become our new tradition, because they were good, they were easy, and they were relatively inexpensive. I always buy a boneless pork loin and cut my own chops/roasts, etc. They’re significantly cheaper that way and you can cut them thin or thick as you like. No, stuffing isn’t Atkins-compliant, but as long as I go right back to Atkins I’ll be fine.
Sorry, no food porn images tonight. For not doing anything all day, I’m beat. There’s also the fact we devoured everything the second it was done.
We haven’t done any photo expeditions for a while. (Tentatively going out this weekend, depending on weather.) The combination of work hours and the recent yard-sale blitz took precedence.
In the meantime I’m amusing myself by designing jewelry. Oh, not with gold and real gemstones. Even if I were amenable, my budget took a few big hits lately, between health/dental stuff and having to buy another computer. These are strictly AI and Photoshop designs. But when I win the lottery, I actually want the owl pendant up top, created in a combination of inlaid black opal, rubies, diamonds, and sapphires.
It would cost a fortune, but it would be glorious in person.
The design below is only the upper half of the eagle and designed in alabaster and gold.

Yeah, I do have a thing for owls. Though to be fair, when I have something that’s working, I like to make multiple mock-ups in different versions. This batch just happened to be owls.
I’m trying to build other options, too. It can take a dozen or more attempts to get anything that’s even passable using AI, and that’s assuming you did everything right. I think this was only the second or third attempt at asking for an inlaid lion pendant. (We’re well over twenty owl iterations now. Though there’s at least one more of the owl designs I really like.)

I’m happy with the outcome.
I’d planned to write more, but the food coma won.

I’m glad you had a relatively easier day. Love the jewelry. You certainly have a wide interest in many things.
Thanks, Terri. I like designing, period – whatever shape that takes. I enjoy finding things with a camera that other people overlook, or fleshing out a vague idea and making it into something amazing. I can’t sew any more, but I can still use digital means to create. 🙂
I’d love to do more extensive and creative cooking, too, but my body gets in my face and screams, NO.
