FYI, when I said the back yard at the house was dirt and rocks, it wasn’t an exaggeration. The above photo is it.
As you can see, fancy it ain’t. We have to repair/replace the fence, clean up the mess BEHIND the fence, and then the yard itself is a blank canvas. The good news is we have plans to install a workshop, a storage shed, paving, and some greenery. Hopefully we’ll have the cash to carry through on all the plans. Some of them are pretty sure things, some are likely. The rest… we shall see.
Incidentally, the front yard is the same general idea, just more rocks. I didn’t snap a photo of the rocks. And the above was from my phone because neither of us thought to grab the DSLRs when we headed out with another load.
Dangerspouse, I promised you pictures of the desert. These is them. Notice I said desert and not dessert. You should be careful of spelling, ya know. These were taken about five miles down the road from the house.

Hubby is happy as a clam to be moving out in the middle of nowhere. And I have to admit, after being out where we’re going to live, the traffic as we came back into town had me ready to crawl up the walls. I’m also looking forward to more space, a dedicated office, and peace and quiet. The only “traffic jam” out there is at the post office. Since there’s no curbside delivery – everything is PO Box – the local USPS is the busiest spot in town.
I smh, knowing the people there are heavily pro-Cheetolini, and the “happening place” is definitely an endangered species.
LAST-MINUTE EDIT: Spousal unit G (his new page linked at right) just informed me the tin box is now sold. I was worried we might have to either drastically lower the price or sit biting our nails for the next few weeks. The first person who looked at it called to say she wants it.

I’m happy you sold the former dwelling. I’m sure you can put that money to good use. Glad also that you and G will have your own personal space along with peace and quiet. I’m sure you will whip the yard into shape and that it will look great before long. Good luck in your new home.
