Well it started out as a good day, anyway. We had a “hot” day doing yard sale runs, both in terms of the temperature and in terms of good finds.
Then we came home and checked the mail and I got my denial letter for SSD.
It’s typical to be denied the first attempt, mind you, and I know why I was denied right out of the gate. I didn’t fake it when I did my medical exam, like my friends suggested. So now we’re trying to decide where to go next, literally and figuratively. Some next steps are obvious, like appealing the outcome. Others are considerably more fuzzy. I am still convinced we’ll be all right, just not sure how to make “all right” part happen pronto.
Gotta love our convoluted government, where being disabled is a legal status that all but disregards what your doctor has to say. Then again, with the current GOP Congress, the government would rather force you into homelessness, then outlaw it so they can arrest you and make you work for free in the privately held jail system.
