Name That Car

Name That Car

New wheels pictures below! We’re a bit disappointed; after driving a couple of days we’ve got a check engine light, always fun, and a couple of other minor idiosyncracies. Going to get it checked today and hoping it’s something minimal. It can be anything from a $2 fitting to a several-hundred-dollar emissions part. At least most stuff I get parts only and have a family member who can do the work. We knew going in that getting a used car was a crapshoot, particularly at our price range. We also figured realistically we’d probably have to do some work up front – nature of the beast, so to speak. Overall we still like the new monster.

We still don’t have a name for her. I’m open to suggestions.

G’s miserably sick the past couple of days. He was in a good mood and sending me love notes via email yesterday morning – lots of them – but later in the day twisted his ankle and things went downhill from there. He didn’t eat last night, just kind of oozed into bed. Poor guy.

Does anyone besides me seek out the equivalent of American Idol or America’s/Britain’s Got Talent but for other countries? That’s how I discovered this young man. (Late edit: Poolie says the vids are not available for her; just in case I’ll post a link below to take you to at least a link where you can find videos FOR the artist[s].)

Close your eyes and tell me you don’t think it’s actually Elton John. I dare you.

As a soloist he’s excellent but these days he’s teamed up as part of an awesome quartet:

Every one of these guys has an awesome voice on his own – together they’re a staggering amount of talent in one package. What I find especially ironic, though, is that these young Norwegian men sing in English. I’ve searched for them on YouTube and they’re doing other folks’ cover songs. I think I’d listen to them in any language. Clearly the same goes for their audience.

And then, there is the definition of SURPRISE, in this clip from Thailand. No fair scrolling down – and listen at least several stanzas into her song or you won’t get it.

Not trick photography, not a dub. I’m leaving space here – no fair peeking ahead before you listen to the video!

The singer’s a transgendered woman. Extraordinary talent truly knows NO boundaries!
