Our company from overseas is heading out early tomorrow morning and will be taking a 24-hour trek back again. I’m sorry to see them leave, but we’ve issued an open invitation for their return. It’s a given that G’s sister will return, and there’s always a chance that his niece will, too.
Little Guy is still here tonight. His mom was scheduled for classes until 10pm, but since her night class was canceled she came in and is spending the night, and she’s got him. Considering he’s how he’s behaved today I can’t say I’m sorry. I’m all in from futzing with the little stinker. He’s smack in the middle of the Terrible Twos. You know what I mean if you’ve ever had children: it’s the age to which the answer to everything you say is, “No!” Unless it’s, “No way!” Well unless you say no, in which case the answer is for the child to do it anyway (or try to do it anyway). His being smarter doesn’t keep him from those developmental stages; he’s just sneakier about it.
I have one more day off, then I’m back to work for a short week. I can live with that. I’d prefer a month off, but not at the expense of unemployment.
Well unless it’s in exchange for my book going bestseller so I can retire from my “day” job. I’m not dismissing the possibility. Neither am I counting on it! I know the odds.
